East Meets West

We headed east in August for a week of fun.  We started our vacation in Webster, MA spending four days with friends at Camp Gunther and they were fantastic hosts.  The kids swam in Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg (Webster Lake), they went tubing and just played and played and played with their friends.  These kids have known each other all of their lives, seriously, all of it and I hope their friendship will continue across oceans, over mountains and through the school years.  I hope they will cherish each other for a lifetime. The second part of our trip was in Boston, one of my top 5 favorite cities in the US.  We went to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park, we hung out at Fanuiel Hall/ Quincy Market, we checked out the Boston Children's Museum (amazing), we went to the Cheers restaurant, we spent time at Boston Common and the Boston Public Gardens where we rode the swan boats, and we rode the T (The Boston Subway) everyday.  We also had Phillip, our nephew, join us from Washington DC as the best babysitter ever while we enjoyed the Red Sox game.  This is a city with a lot to teach us so we will be back to take on even more.

I love spending time like this with my family.  It's a blast to watch the kids have new experiences and to just grow as a family.  As they get older they will begin to have fond memories of our travels.
